Moon, Allen R. (27 MAY 1929 - 30 APR 2018)

Allen R. Moon, 89, of River Falls, formerly of Ladysmith, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Our House Senior Living Residential Facility.

Allen was born on May 27, 1929 to Nyle and Hazel (Carter) Moon of Park Falls.

He married Mary Ellen Theesfield on July 28, 1951, and they were married for 66 years. To this union three children were born, Lynn, Linda and Lon. In 1959, the family moved to River Falls.
He was a member of the American Legion for 58 years, serving on the honor guard in Ladysmith.

Allen is survived by his wife, Mary; his sons, Lynn and Lon (Janis), both of River Falls; his daughter, Linda (David) Christenson of Woodruff; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Howard (Norma) Moon of Cameron and his sisters-in-law, Janet Daily of Mauston and Helen Theesfield of Amery. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Guy and Harland, who was killed in World War II. He was also preceded in death by infant siblings, a brother, Robert and a sister, Ina Mae. He was further preceded in death by grandchildren, two infant babies, Aaron Christenson and Jason Lon Moon and grandson, Jacy Lynn Moon, who passed away at 35 years old.

Interment will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19 at Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls. Military honors will be provided by River Falls American Legion Post 121. A celebration of life will follow at American Legion Hall in River Falls.
