Swoboda, Carol Jean (Koedtke) (14 OCT 1937 - 3 MAY 2018)
Carol Jean Swoboda, age 80 of Colby passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the
Marshfield Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Christ
Lutheran Church in Abbotsford with Reverend Don Bruce officiating. Interment
will be in the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 9:30
am until time of service Thursday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral
Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with arrangements.
Carol was born May 21, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of George A. and
Loretta B. (Conrad) Koedtke. She received her education at Athens Elementary
School and was a graduate of Athens High School.
Carol was a secretary in Minneapolis, MN, before moving back to Abbotsford. Her
marriage to Arthur L. Swoboda took place on June 8, 1984 in Elko, NV.
Carol enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, music and she loved her dogs and
visiting with family.
Carol will be sadly missed by her children: Allen (Karen) Swoboda of Sheldon,
Renee (Dale) Reed of Champlin, MN, Wendy (Mike) Picott of Fridley, MN and Terry
Swoboda of Hastings, MN. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Matthew
(Cassie), Nichole, Dallas, Jacob (Brittany), Kelsey (Ryan), Taylor, Tyler and
Brodey and great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Maverick, Ashlyn, Brycen and future
baby M.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Arthur L. Swoboda on
January 1, 2003.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Clark County or Taylor County
Humane Society.
