Sladich, Alvin L. (1912? – 29 OCT 1973)
Alvin L. Sladich, 61, formerly of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), now of 15
Anderson Court, Monessen, Pa., died on October 29, 1973 in a Pittsburgh hospital
following heart surgery.
He was married in November 1 from St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of
Monessen, Pa.
Mr. Sladich was born in Wickhaven Pa. to the late Joseph and Johanna (Vojas)
Sladich. He grew to manhood in the Greenwood area, and returned to Pennsylvania
to work fo the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., as a carpenter following his
tour of duty with the Seabees in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Survivors include his second wife, the former Helen (Lastoka) Mitch; one
daughter, Mrs. Michael (Barbara) Lipp; two step-sons, Michael Mitch of Glen
Burnie, Maryland and James Mitch of Beaver Falls, Pa.; one sister, Mrs. Anton
(Anna) Blatnik of Fayette City, Pa.; three brothers, Rudolph and Ignatius of
Greenwood, and Philip of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and two granddaughters.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, the former Carolyn Gorshak, in 1949,
his parents, and several brothers and sisters.
