John Bloom, 26 son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bloom, Route 1, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.),
is recovering in St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield from a gunshot wound in the
right leg suffered Friday afternoon.
The accident occurred on the family farm just prior to the butchering of an
animal. John entered the barn with a revolver strapped to his waist. He lost his
footing and fell against a wall with the door slamming against his body at the
same time. The jar caused the gun to accidentally discharge. The bullet severed
two arteries in his leg, and he was rushed to the hospital by the Loyal
Ambulance Service.
