Gordon was born to the late John and Edna Busche. He attended the Lindbergh
School in March Rapids. An avid fisherman, he married Marlene, the finest catch
of his life, in October 1963. They raised four children on their farm in the
Township of Eau Pleine, just miles from where he grew up.
Gordon left his mark by constructing and maintaining miles of roads in the
township and surrounding areas. He also excavated many ponds on the farm. Gordon
and Marlene lived for ten years in the Northwoods of Eagle River. They moved
back to Stratford in 2001 and set their home among the ponds. Gordon and Marlene
planted groves of trees so they could look through their picture window across
the biggest pond to watch the deer, fish and many pairs of geese, ducks and
loons. To his children, grandchildren and many other friends, he passed along
his passions for fishing, deer hunting, mechanical work, rummage sales, driving
the backroads and spending time outdoors. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran
Church.
Gordon is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene; four children Bruce (Kathy)
Busche of Stratford; Leesa (Steven) Gropp of Spencer; Luci (Scott) Olson of
Georgetown, Texas; Sarah (Robin) Kaiser of Stratford; and ten grandchildren
Trista (John), Sydney (Maxwell), Jordan, Austin, Cole (Jaime), Jennah (Sam),
Alex, Tori, Jack (Michelle), and Rachel. He is further survived by his siblings
Delmar (Barbara) Busche, Shirley (Ron) Ehlert, John (Janet) Busche, Glenn
(Beverly) Busche, and Dale Busche and a sister-in-law, Heidi Grossenbacher.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents and Gertrude and Fred Hannemann, Lawrence
and Betty Spring, Frank and Romaine Spring, and Edwin Grossenbacher.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful care teams
