Kempen, Elaine Rose (Adomaitis) (17 JAN 1936 - 10 MAY 2018)
Elaine Rose Kempen, 82, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, died in Wauwatosa on Thursday, May
10, 2018.
She was born on January 17, 1936 in Kennan, Wisconsin, the daughter of William
and Mary (Fisher) Adomaitis. She was a graduate of the Phillips High School and
of Saint Luke’s School of Practical Nursing.
She was married to Richard Kempen on June 11, 1955. In her working career she
was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse, as a sales associate at Sears and
Roebuck Company, and as a bookkeeper for Richard F. Kempen Construction. She
attended the Catholic Church, and was a member of the Catholic Sokol and of the
Christian Women’s Society.
She is survived by four children, Richard (Linda) Kempen, Hartland, WI, Tracy
(John) Lind, Muskego, WI, Dennis (Patricia) Kempen, Greendale, WI, and Jean
(Allen) Haller, Harland, WI; by 15 grandchildren, Larry (Heather) Kempen,
Jennifer (Bob) Panger, Kelly Kempen, Kimberly Kempen, Daniel (Kristin) Lind,
Lavern Lind, Gina Lind, Alexa Kempen, Dhris Kempen, Jeff (Madelyn) Kempen
Jessica Haller, Lindsey Haller, Richard Haller, Kelly (Brent Davies) Kempen, and
Kimberly (Kevin Diedrich) Kempen; and by three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on September 9, 2015; by her
parents; by four brothers, Vince Adomaitis, Francis Adomaitis, John Adomaitis,
and James Adomaitis; and by three sisters, Theresa Adomaitis, Kay Novak, and
Florence Haroldson.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 26, at Saint Paul
the Apostle Catholic Church in Catawba with Father Gerald Hagen celebrating the
Funeral Mass. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until
the time of services. The family suggests that memorials take the form of an
offering to Saint Vincent DePaul Food Pantry-St.Therese of Lisieux conference in
Elaine’s name.
