Krause, Irene (28 December 1918 – 1 February 1975)
Mrs. Herman (Irene) Krause, 56, Greenwood, died of an apparent heart attack upon
arrival at the Colby Clinic, February 1.
Mrs. Krause, the former Irene Papenfuss, was born December 28, 1918, in
Abbotsford, where she received her education.
After her marriage to Herman Krause on March 31, 1939, at Waukon, Ia., the
couple lived in Curtiss and for a short time in Stanley and Chippewa Falls. They
have resided in Greenwood since 1954.
She was a member of the Zion United Church.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Beverly Strebig of Chippewa Falls; a
sister, Mrs. Leona Syoblum of Minneapolis; two brothers: Harold Papenfuss of
Abbotsford and Henry Papenfuss of Chicago; her mother, Mrs. George (Lena)
Papenfuss of Abbotsford; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Strebig of Chippewa
Falls.
Funeral services were held February 5, from Zion United Church in Greenwood. The
Rev. David Logue officiated. Burial was made in Pine Hill Cemetery, Curtiss.
Pallbearers were: Robert Schneider, George Stark, Henry Keller, Gary Vollrath,
Selvian Krultz and Holley Vetterkind.
