Dommer, Fred A. (19 FEB 1896 – 4 MAR 1974)
Fred A. Dommer, 78, 205 W. Mill Street, Spencer, died March 4, 1974 at Colonial
House of Colby. He had suffered a stroke on January 16.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Trinity
Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William Ruhbusch officiating. Burial took place
in the West Spencer Cemetery (Clark Co., Wis.).
Pallbearers were Max McVean, Dick Meinders, A.C. Messer, Ray Parrett, Loren
Copet, and Lorrin Nall.
The Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, had charge of arrangements.
Fred Dommer was born February 19, 1896 in Gary, Indiana, and was married on
September 23, 1921 at Riplinger (Clark Co.) to Ida Kuester, who preceded him in
death.
He moved to Spencer in 1948.
He had been employed at the Riplinger Box Factory, and the Soo Line Railroad. He
was a World War I Veteran.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, and the Spencer
American Legion.
He is survived by two sons, Harold, Spencer, and Milton, Stevens Point; two
daughters, Mrs. Leroy (Norma) Fauset, San Luis Obispo, California, Mrs. Harry
(Irene) Strathman, Colby; two step-sons, Russel Halford, Minneapolis, Minnesota,
Ira Halford, Good Hill, Oregon; two step-daughters, Mrs. Lorenzo (Grace)
Zamborine, Wauwatosa, and Mrs. Jack (Marie) Dearden, Garden Grove, California,
and one sister, Emma Wienke, Clear Lake, Minnesota.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three
sisters.
