The Meyer brother’s farm, in the town of Greenwood (Taylor County) suffered a
$1200 fire loss Saturday morning.
The chicken house and contents were burned and only the good work of neighbors
prevented loss of the other buildings on the place. The fire probably started
from the brooder stove. The barn caught fire several times but was put out by
the neighbors.
The farm is located nine miles east of highway on M. Three families live on this
farm; Mr. and Mrs. August Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Meyer and Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Meyer. Mrs. August Meyer discovered the fire.
200 roosters, some grain, and small items of farm equipment and tools, including
the milk separator, were lost.
