Kasper, Joanne M. (Scheer) (1 MAR 1937 - 25 MAY 2018)
Joanne M. Kasper, age 81, of Unity, passed away peacefully while surrounded by
her family on Friday, May 25, 2018, at House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity with Rev. Amy Heinz presiding. Committal
services will follow in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are invited
to gather on Thursday at the church in Unity from 9 a.m. until the time of
service.
The honor of pallbearer will belong to Travis, Troy and Tyler Hardrath, Kirstin
Bernard, Christopher and Clint Gosse.
Joanne was born March 1, 1937, in the Town of Green Grove, the daughter of
Orland and Irene (Duvall) Scheer. She was united in marriage to her best friend,
Kenneth Kasper, on May 29, 1954, in Spencer. Besides being a dedicated wife and
mother, Joanne had been employed in door manufacturing at Weyerhaeuser in
Marshfield for over 32 years, retiring in 1999.
Her hobbies included traveling to spur of the moment destinations with her
husband Ken, wintering 18 times in Texas, cooking and baking delicious food for
her family and friends.
She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity, a past member of
the Unity Community Lions Club and volunteered at the original House of the Dove
on Western Street in Marshfield.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Kasper of Unity; two
daughters, Cindy Hardrath of Unity and Luanne (Bill) Gosse of Marshfield; her
grandchildren, Travis, Troy, Tyler, Spring, Lucas, Kirstin, Christopher and
Clint; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kyler, Ryan, Cadyn, Zoreyna, Sabrina,
Gabrielle, Ryouga, Noah, Jasmine, Westley, Olivia, Mae Lynn, Elijah and Bailey;
her sister, Sheryl Hamilton; along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lyle; her grandson, Trent;
her great-granddaughter, Ella Kate; and a brother, Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting memorials in Joanne’s name to either
Trinity Food Pantry or to The House of the Dove.
Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
