Rohland, Edmond (11 DEC 1926 - 29 MAY 2018)
Edmond Rohland, age 91, of Withee, passed away surrounded by his loving family
on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his home under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice
of Eau Claire.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors provided by Lublin American Legion Post
#547, Owen American Legion Post #123 and Owen-Withee Vets Club will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 2 at Riverside Cemetery in the Town of Hixon. A
celebration of Edmond's life will be held following the service at Meadowview
Country Club in Owen.
Edmond was born on December 11, 1926, the son of John and Caroline (Klabon)
Rohland in the Town of Hixon. He attended school at White School in rural Withee
and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Pacific during WWII. On August 2,
1948, Edmond was united in marriage to Dorothy Long. She preceded him in death
on October 11, 2004.
Edmond loved farming and was a progressive farmer always looking to improve his
herd. Before retiring, he had the 2nd best milk producing herd in Clark County.
He was member of the National Farmers Organization and the American Legion Post
#123.
Edmond is survived by seven children: Terry (Marge) Rohland of Owen, Christine
(Dennis) Nelson of Loyal, Teresa (Jerold) Rakovec of Withee, Elaine Rohland of
Marshfield, Patricia Martin of Marshfield, Lisa (Jim) Scheunemen of Owen and
Richard (Nancy) Rohland of Medford; 27 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by his sister, Emily Fijalkiewicz of Greenwood and his
sister-in-law, Shirley Rohland of Wausau; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 12 siblings: Julius, Albert,
Otto, Fred, Henry, Buster, Elsie, Emil and four in infancy; and his grandson,
Eric Hamm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorials to the Owen American Legion
Post #123 or the Highground.
