Strangfeld, Byrl Lawrence (25 March 1940 – 24 May 2018)
Byrl Strangfeld, 78, of Neillsville, died peacefully with his family by his side
on May 24, 2018 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, after a courageous
battle with cancer.
Byrl Lawrence Strangfeld was born on March 25, 1940, at home in the Town of
Weston (rural Neillsville), to Peter and Pauline (Tomlinson) Strangfeld, one of
four sons. He attended Fairview School in rural Neillsville and graduated from
Neillsville High School in 1958. After graduation, he studied architectural
design.
He was united in marriage to Louise Davis on February 13, 1965 at Immanuel
Lutheran Church of Globe, Neillsville, WI. He worked at American Motors in
Kenosha, for nine years. Then worked as a city mail carrier first in Kenosha and
then transferred to Neillsville in 1970. He retired in 1998 after carrying mail
for 32 years. He also stayed very content and happy taking care of his farm
animals and crops. After retiring, he worked as the Town of Seif road patrol for
ten years.
Byrl enjoyed spending time with his family, camping with family and friends,
travelling, hunting and fishing. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran
Church. He served many positions in the church over the years, including church
president. He was always ready to help out when anything needed attention or
repair. He loved wildlife and being out in nature.
Byrl was a loving husband, father and proud grandpa. Loved ones that will miss
Byrl until they meet again are his wife, Louise; their daughter, Michaela (Mike)
Wilsmann of Marshfield; grandchildren: Ryan Wilsmann and McKenzie Wilsmann, both
of Marshfield; brothers Arnold (Patti) of Nekoosa and Louis of Neillsville; and
many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Lynette in infancy and Belinda; his
parents; brother Robert and several brothers-and sisters-in-laws.
