The Department of Natural Resources will host a public informational meeting to
discuss a proposal to expand the property boundary on the Pershing Wildlife Area
in Taylor County.
The meeting takes place on Saturday, May 31 from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Gilman High
School Cafeteria, 325 N. 5th Ave. The meeting will be an open house format with
department staff available to discuss the options and received comments. A
presentation of the project will be at 2 p.m.
The wildlife area consists of 7,900 acres within an 8,896 acre project boundary.
According to property manager, Mark Schmidt, the two expansion alternatives
being considered are to add either 3,500 or 7,000 acres to the boundary.
