A railroad crossing on the main thoroughfare in Lublin, cited by village
residents as a dangerous crossing, will have two automatic signals.
The state public service commission, Madison, issued an order Monday to the Soo
Line Railroad Co. to install and maintain the signals at the county trunk F
crossing within one year. Pending completion of the installation, arterial stop
signs will be installed to promote public safety.
A petition for the improved crossing signals was filed in December by county
highway commissioner Gordon Hamrick. The PSC conducted a hearing at Medford in
January when Hamrick and assemblyman and county board chairman Joe Sweda of
Lublin appeared.
