Henry was born September 1, 1927, to John and Margaret (Ames) Lane in Duluth,

occupations. Henry proudly served our country in both World War II and the

to tell and a semi to play in when he returned home. Henry also served as an
auxiliary police officer in Superior, and volunteered his time driving for the
VA, bringing veterans to the Minneapolis Veterans Hospital. After relocating to
Warroad, MN in the mid 90's, Henry worked as a security officer at Lake of the
Woods Casino for several years. Henry was proud to call Thorp his home for the
last three and a half years of his life.
Henry enjoyed woodworking, daily walks, listening to classic country music,
watching old westerns, reading anything and everything, and working crossword
puzzles. Henry most treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, as they
were his pride and
One of Henry's proudest moments was being selected to participate in the Freedom
Honor Flight in 2015. Henry was able to spend the day touring nation's capital,
Washington D.C., visiting memorials that were built in his and other veterans
honor. Henry enjoyed being involved with the American Legion and the VFW, where
in his later years he was able to help sell calendars, poppies, and tickets for
various fundraisers.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Phebe Emma Lane, in 2013. Henry was
also preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Johnson; step-son Milo Lane;
step-daughters: Patricia Baker, Lottie Potter, Doris Lane; one grandson, Michael
Lane; and one great-grandson, Matthew Beckwell.

and care given from the staff of Clark County.
