Mark Larson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard T. Larson, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.),
and a student at the Greenwood High School, has been named one of the 1974
winners of the Laird Youth Leadership Foundation Scholarship.
Mark and ten other winners will be honored Saturday at a luncheon to be held at
Bullseye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids.
Former 7th District Congressman and Secretary of Defense, Melvin R. Laird, will
welcome the 11 winners, their parents, and high school principals.
The scholarship range from $1,000 to $2,000 each, and are awarded annually to
high school seniors demonstrating outstanding leadership ability and academic
records.
The recipients may use the scholarships at any college or university they chose.
Two of last year's scholarship recipients, Janet Lisak of Plainfield, and Steve
Huntington, Gresham, will relate their college experiences of the past year to
the group. Janet attended UW, Stevens Point this year, and Steve attended UW,
Oshkosh.
