Izdepski, John Greeley (1949? - 30 MAY 2018)
John Greeley Izdepski was reunited with family and friends in Heaven on May 30,
2018, at the age of 69. He passed peacefully at Comanche County Memorial
Hospital with his daughters and his son-in-law by his side.
John served in active duty military for 24 years with the U.S. Army and retired
in 1993 as a Chief Warrant Officer (CW3); he is a Viet Nam veteran and completed
tours of duty in Germany and Korea, in addition to several stateside
assignments. John's military occupational specialty was in radar and ballistic
meteorology; he continued to work with civilian contractors in the radar field
at ICO Hall, Ft. Sill, Okla. for 20 more years after his retirement.
John is a life-long Green Bay Packers fan and life member of VFW Post 5263 in
Lawton, Okla. John is beloved by family and friends; his generosity and wry
humor will not be forgotten.
John is survived by his wife, Gay Izdepski of Texas; his daughters, Jennifer
Izdepski and Jacqueline (Izdepski) Phillips; his son-in-law, Michael J.H.
Phillips of Lawton, Okla.; his brother, Tom Izdepski (Linda) of Conrath; his
sister, Ann Rivard of Daggett, Mich., his brother-in-law, Dave Suhsen of
Bloomington, Minn.; his sister-in-law, Barbara Izdepski of St. Paul, Minn.; as
well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mary; his brother, Jim; his
sisters, Mary Margaret and Jane and his brother-in-law, Jim Rivard.
A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at 6 pm. on Friday, June
8 at VFW Post 5263, 103 NE 20th St., Lawton, OK 73507.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VFW Post 5263 in John's memory.
