Marion F. Karpinski, age 88, of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away on Monday,
June 11, 2018, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held at 10:30
a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in
Thorp. Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home on Friday, June 15, 2018,
from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again at the church, on Saturday, from 9:30
a.m. until time of service.
Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Karpinski, Marion F. (21 NOV 1929 – 11 JUN 2018)
Marion Francis Karpinski, age 88, of Cazenovia, Wisconsin, formerly of Thorp,
passed away on Monday, June 11,2018, at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center,
in Reedsburg . Marion was born on November 21, 1929, in the Town of Reseburg,
rural Thorp, to Casimer and Mary (Wilczek) Karpinski. He was on the family farm
and received his education in the Town of Reseburg. After completing his
education, he worked on the family farm until entering the U.S. Army in 1955 and
served until his honorable discharge in 1957. He was united in marriage to Linda
L. Winger on July 14, 1962, at St. Hedwig's Chapel in Thorp. They purchased the
family farm from his mother in 1963 and farmed until they relocated to Cazenovia
in 1974. Marion was employed by Grede Foundry in Reedsburg and worked until his
retirement in 1992.
In his spare time from working and tinkering in his shed, Marion enjoyed
watching the wildlife, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, and watching
football on TV. Best of all, he enjoyed family gatherings and spending quality
time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Linda of 55 years; four children: Caroline (Bill)
Stockwell of Wonewoc, Michael Karpinski of Cazenovia, Bernadine (Rick) Downing
of Wonewoc, Donna (Kirk) Dahm of Thorp; six grandchildren: Tiffany, LeaAnn,
Kristopher, Brent, Sarah, Amber; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Chester
(Alice) Karpinski of Thorp; sister, Eleanor Hull of Eau Claire; brother-in-law,
Joseph Lato of Thorp; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Agnes Lato; a grandson,
Adam Demaske; a nephew, Ted Lato; and a brother-in-law, David Hull.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at St.
Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Rev. Charles Hiebl officiated and
burial followed in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery. Graveside military rites
were conducted by the Thorp American Legion Post 118.
Pallbearers were: Rick Downing, Kirk Dahm, Tiffany Waterman, LeaAnn Demaske,
Kristopher Downing, Brent Demaske, Sarah Dahm, Amber Dahm.
Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 5 p.m.
to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service. Visitation was also held at the
church, on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
