Fraser, Debra Rachel Maria (13 AUG 1953 – 28 JUN 1971)
The Rt. Rev. Stanley Atkins, Bishop of the Diocese of Eau Claire, officiated at
the Order for the Burial of the Dead for Deborah Fraser, at eleven o'clock on
Thursday morning, July 1, in St. Katherine's Church. He was assisted by the Rev.
Alex Fraser, the Rev. James Kaestner of Marshfield, and the Rev. Gary Blumer of
Chippewa Falls, who also function as the Bishop Chaplain. Various other clergy
of the Diocese were present in the chancel. The Bishop used the Second Office of
the new Trail Liurgy Orders for the Servcie, and the Rev. Alex Fraser assisted
in the administration of the Sacraments. The family request no flower, but
rather that contributions be made either to the American Cancer Society or to
the Memorial Fund at St. Katherine's Church. Wild flowers on the Altar were
gathered by the George Cleveland family. Six classmates: George Cleveland, Phil
Kitze, Scot Marrier, Mark Klabon, Lash Fritz, and Bryan Schultz acted as
pallbearers. Bill Ridpath and James Barager acted as acolytes. Gene Sutter
served as usher.
Miss Margaret Sillampa served as organist and Miss Elaine Sillampa as guitarist.
The music selected was symbolic of the various aspects of the life Debbie had
lived in her seventeen eyars on earth. A lunch by the Women of St. Katherine's
followed.
Death came to Debbie following an illness of several months, early Monday
morning, June 18, 1971. Debbie, 17 was born August 24, 1953 in Salisbury, N.C..
She leaves her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Alec Fraser, a younger sister, Mary
Elizabeth Aleandra Fraser, paternal grandmother, Mrs. Edward Fraser, Kansas
City, Mo.; paternal aunt and uncle, Capt. and Mrs. Preston Shamer, Moorestown,
N.J.; maternal aunt and uncle, Professor and Mrs. Davis C. Heron, Yonkers, N.Y.;
Mr. and Mrs. Photios Ganaros, Middletown, Conn.; Anthony Ganaros and numerous
cousins and great aunts and uncle, as well as a host of friends and classmates
within the school system, from which she was graduated this past May.
In high school Debbie was active in numerous extracurricular activities,
including choir, forensics, library club, news staff, and was editor of the
school paper this past year.
