Richter, James (15 OCT 1893 – 14 JUL 1971)
Rev. H.W. Luetkehoelter, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, officiated
at the final rites held for James Richter at two o'clock Saturday afternoon,
July 17, 1971. The services were conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral
Home, Owen,w ith burial being made a Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Frank Hendricks, Arnold Dehne, George Holub, Earl
Nichols, Herbert Wehrman and Lennie Galarowicz.
He had recently suffered a stroke and passed away late Wednesday afternoon, July
14, 1971 at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville, where he had been a patient for 20
days.
Mr. Richter was 78 years of age, being born October 15, 1893 in Wisconsin, and
was married July 17, 1915 at Moline, Ill. to the former Margaret Davis, who
survives.
The couple had lived in Park Falls, Phillips and Dorchester before coming to
Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) about 20 years ago, where he was a longtime employee of
the Midway Bar, until about a year ago.
Survivors, other than his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Lucile Severson,
Neillsville; a sister, Mrs. Clara Palmer, Withee; a brother, Frank Richter,
Chesapeake, Va.; a granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.
