Mr. and Mrs. Herb Thompson and John returned home Monday after spending a few
days visiting their three daughters and families, Beverly Bailey Kathie Surges
or Racine, and Ruth Rose(?) of Waukesha. They also saw their new granddaughter,
Kelly Lynn, born August 12, 1971 to Kathie and Jerry Surges.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Thorne and Phyllis, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thorne of Route
2, Owen, came home Saturday, August 21 from a 2 week vacation trip that took
them to San Leandro, California and Wickenburg, Arizona to visit relatives. Also
they did some sightseeing.
Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Thompson of Columbus spent Sunday and Monday with her mother,
Mrs. Anna T. Sorenson.
Art Wolfram drove to Eau Claire Friday, the 20, to attend the wedding of his
granddaughter, Janet, to Robert Beley of Milwaukee. The ceremony took place in a
beautiful setting on her father's law, with about 100 relatives, friends and
neighbors being present. The bride and groom will live in La Crosse, where the
groom is a commercial pilot, and Janet will teach. Her father, Rodger and wife,
Ruth, served a wonderful lunch to all the guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lesneski and children and Mr. and Mrs. John Lesneski drove to
Strum Saturday forenoon, where they enjoyed the Steam Engine Days program.
