Riihinen, Anna (11 JUN 1896 – 8 SEP 1971)

Funeral services for Mrs. Tobias Riihinen, who had been an area resident for 57 years, were held Saturday. The final rites were conducted by the Rev. V Puotinen of Ironwood, Michigan, from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen. Burail as made at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Serving as pallbearers were William Maki, ? Kallio, Toivo Kallio, Arno Sormunen, Voito Mutka and Penthra Puro.

Mrs. Riihinen, who was 85 years and 3 months of age, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 1971 of an apparent heart attack following major surgery at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley.

The former Anna Rissanen was born June 11, 1886 in Finland, and received her education there. She came to the United Sates and was married in June 1912 in Clinton, Indiana, to Tobias Riihinen, who preceded her in death June 10, 1958. She had lived in Owen (Clark Co., Wis. since that time.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Sylvia) O'keefe, Waukegan, Ill.; three sons, Arno, Owen; Vaitto, Thorp, and Eddie of Waukegan, Ill.; a grandson; and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Berg, Seattle, Washington.
