Devine, Cynthia Marie (4 SEP 1971)
At Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Saturday, September 4, 1971 at three o'clock
in the afternoon, Miss Cynthia Marie Devine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter
Devine, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Rodney Harlan Quelle, son of Mrs. Dora
Quelle, Withee (Clark Co.), were united in matrimony. Officiating was the Rev.
George Becker, when the bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride was attired in an empire style gown of peau de soi, with embroidered
lace sleeves, featuring a stand up ruffled collar. She carried a bouquet of pink
tipped daisies. Daisies were also repeated in her crown, to which her veil was
attached, ending in a train.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Jody Pawlak, cousin of the bride,
from Thorp, with three other bridesmaids, her sister, Lynda Devine, Sheila
Stewart and Gayle G. Jarvis, Withee. They were identically dressed in gowns of
mint green, empire styled, with long sleeves of sheer nylon chiffon, and carried
long stem pink roses. In their hair they were tiny pink roses.
Attending the groom as best man was Daniel Jankee, with groomsmen, George
Wilson, Jack Barager, and David Devine. Their tux featured bell bottomed
trousers, long jackets and ruffled French shirts.
Following the wedding a reception dinner was held at the Meadowview Country Club
to over 200 guests.
The bride is a graduate of the Owen-Withee High School and attended the
Technical Institute in Eau Claire. She has presently been employed at Green Bay.
The groom is a graduate of the Owen-Withee High School, attended school in
Chicago. He is employed in Milwaukee as a machinist for Capitol Engineering.
Following a wedding trip the newlyweds will make their home in Milwaukee.
