Gertrude (nee Ziebell) Gilbertson. She was raised and received her education in
Granton and graduated from Granton High School in 1943. After high school, Jane
worked in Granton at the grocery store and then later at J.C. Penney’s in
Marshfield. She married Richard T. Ashbeck Sr. on Aug. 7, 1945, at St. Mary’s

operating Hemlock Cheese Factory for 37 years until retiring in 1982. After the
death of her husband on June 18, 1983, Jane worked several years at Figi’s and
Younker’s in Marshfield. In 2003, she moved to Loyal, where she resided until
entering Atrium of Marshfield in December 2016. She was a member of St. Mary’s
Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Society for many years, until moving to Loyal in
2003 and becoming a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Jane had many
interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends,
bowling, and playing cards.
