At a joint meeting of the Clark-Marathon Postmasters, and postal employees and
friends, Harold A. Wendt was honor at a belated retirement party Sunday evening.
The dinner and party were held at the Trianon Ballroom, at which time Mr. Wendt
was presented with gifts from his former fellow works and the Postmasters of
Clark and Marathon Counties.
Also at this time Mr. Wendt was presented with a forty-year Honorary Recognition
Certificate by the Post Office Department, which reads as follows:
Dear Mr. Wendt:
It gives me a great deal of pleasure to present this letter as honorary
recognition certificate in commemoration of your more than forty years of
federal services, include 13 years as postmaster of Owen (Clark Co.), Wisconsin.
Serving the patrons of your office all those years must be a source of
considerable satisfaction to you. Throughout your career you have made many
friends and have served the post office and the public well and faithfully.
I wish to extend my warm personal greetings and hope that you will accept this
honorary recognition certificate as a symbol of my deep appreciation for a
lifetime of commendable service.
With all best wishes for many years of happy retirement.

Also at this party Mrs. Dorothy Zasoba was honored after having service more
than thirty years as Postmaster at Withee (Clark Co.), Wisconsin.
