Three Medford men, representing the Medford Electric Utility, went to
Washington, D.C. last week to confer with the federal power commission (FPC) in
regard to a Medford utility stand that wholesale electric power rates should be
reduced.
Medford Electric Utility contends that rates paid for electric power
distribution here to Lake Superior District Power Co., Ashland, should be
brought into line with Northern States Power Co. rates.
Commission spokesmen voiced the opinion that a rate reduction of from 5.7
percent to 8.6 percent is called for.
