Henry B. Mauel Sr., Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), gave his granddaughter, Miss Mary
Glenn Shreve, Eau Claire, in marriage Saturday, September 18, 1971, during a
ceremony at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church at Owen.
Miss Shreve is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Shreve of Weyauwega.
She said vows with Dennis James Hayden, Eau Claire, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale
Hayden, route 1, Bruce.
Pastor the of the church, the Rev. George A. Becker, officiated, and Robert
Kuechenmeister of Eau Claire was soloist and organist.
Chosen by the bride for her wedding day was a white crepe peasant dress with
orange and silver trim, and a crown of seed pearls to hold her short cascade
veil of silk illusion and lace.
Orange, gold and brown chrysanthemums formed the cluster bouquet she carried.
In tangerine peasant gowns with flowered boleros and carrying arrangements of
brown wheat with orange, gold and brown chrysanthemums, were the bridal
attendants, Mrs. Kitty Swiontek, Green Bay, matron of honor, and Miss Joyce
Hayden of Minneapolis, Minn., Miss Ann Westendorf, Hartford, and Mrs. Mary Ellen
Wurzbach, Oshkosh, bridesmaids.
Dan Dauer of Bruce served the groom as his best man, while Dean Ginther,
Augusta, Thomas Kuhn, Stanley, and John Abraham of Reedsburg were groomsmen.
Rich Swiontek, Green Bay, and William Mauel, Eau Claire, were ushers.
The Meadowview Country Club at Owen was the scene of the dinner and reception
following church services. The newlyweds are on a honeymoon to northern
Wisconsin and will be making their home at 1211 S. Farwell in Eau Claire.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Hayden are graduates of Wisconsin State University, Eau
Claire, she in 1970 and he in 1971. While at the university she was a member of
Delta Zeta and he of Alpha Phi Omega. She has been employed by Wisconsin
Telephone Company in Eau Claire, and he is employed there by Midwest Trust.
