Gautsche, Susan A. (1898? – 29 SEP 1971)

Mrs. William E. (Susan Arvilla Hoha) Gautsche, 73, route 3, New London, Wisconsin, passed away September 29, 1971 at 7 p.m. at New London Community Hospital following a lingering illness. The daughter of James A. Hoha and Uelella Sackett, she was born at Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and moved to New London at an early age. She was a 1917 graduate of New London High School. She married William E. Gautsche, September 18, 1918 at New London, and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in September 1968. They lived at Withee (Clark Co.), Wisconsin for 30 years before moving to the New London area in 1947.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, the First Congregational United Church of Christ, New London, and the Ladies Aid Society of the Royalton Congregational Church.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Eleanor) Holasek, Eden Prairie, Minn.; Mrs. Elmo (Lois) Vance, Torrance, Calif.; Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Smith, Ogdensburg; two sons, Gerald, San Diego, Calif.; William Jr., Miami, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Harry (Edith) Schilleman, Hortonville; 13 grandchildren; two nieces, one nephew. Her brother, Lawrence, preceded her in death in 1954.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 2 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregation United Church of Christ, New London, with the Rev. M.E. Staskal in charge.

Smith, Clintonville; and Dr. and Mrs. Don Schultz, Shawano.
