Miss Margaret Sillampa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sillampa of route 1, Owen
(Clark Co., Wis.), was among 45 students at St. Joseph's Hospital School of
Nursing, Marshfield, who received their caps at ceremonies held at 3 p.m.
Sunday, October 8, 1971 in the Senior High School Auditorium there. Sister Mary
Sharee, R.N.M.S. director of nursing service at St. Joseph's Hospital, gave the
capping address, following the presentation of the class by Mrs. Jean Kroeplin,
instructor and class advisor, the students received their caps from Miss Helen
Brunclik, educational administrator fo the school. Mrs. Eulah Nightingale,
assistant instructor and class advisor, then presented each with a lamp lighted
only with the flames of the symbolic candles of their lamps. The class repeated
the Nightingale pledge for nurses. The invocation and benediction were given by
Father William Grevatch, principal of the Columbus High School.
The members of the class have completed two semesters of study at the University
of Wisconsin, Marshfield campus, and a summer session in nursing at St.
Joseph's. Their second years studies began October 4, 1971 and they will be
graduated in May 1973.
