Drost, Edward "Jim" (1945? – 29 OCT 1983)

Edward "Jim" Drost, 38, 2214 Peters Drive, died Sunday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.

He was born in Rice Lake and attended several Rice Lake area school. After graduating from Cameron High School in 1963, he attended the University of Maryland before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He live in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where he owned and operated the Huberty Citgo Truck Stop until he became ill several eyars ago. He married Deloris Marg Zschernitz February 19, 1983, in Eau Claire.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Eric, Cory, Brandon, Jesse, all of Thorp; three step-sons, Steve Zschernitz, Monroe; Kenneth Zschernitz, Tomah; David Zschernitz, Eau Claire; a step-daughter, Judy Thalacker, Tomah; his father and step-mohter, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Drost, Stanley; two sisters, Diane Eggen, Princeton, Minn.; Theresa Forman, Cadott; a brother, LeRoy, Stanley; three step-brothers, Gary Miller, Stanley; Kenneth Miller, Plano, Texas, Alvin Siecter, Boyd; two step-sisters, Sandra Moore, Linda Wise, both of Stanley; his grandmother, Mrs. Alice Neau, Rice Lake; and three step-grandchildren.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Rice Lake, with burial in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Dobie. Rice Lake American Legion Post will perform military rites.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals, Rice Lake,a nd an hour before services at the church.
