Schmidt, Anthony (11 July 1958 – 19 June 2018)
Tony Schmidt, age 59, of Marshfield, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Atrium
Post-Acute Care of Marshfield - Rehabilitation Center following a lengthy battle
with cancer.
Anthony James Schmidt was born on July 11, 1958 in Neillsville, the son of
Romuald and Maxine (Scott) Schmidt. He graduated from Neillsville High School in
1977 and lived in Marshfield, where he was a small business owner. Tony also
enjoyed working for the Opportunity Development Center (ODC) for many years.
Tony was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Marshfield. He loved music and
his cat “Clouseau”. He enjoyed biking, cooking and reading. Tony was an avid
reader of the Bible and had an extensive collection of Bibles in his library and
considered Billy Graham his hero.
He is survived by six siblings, Karen Flynn of Greenwood, Mark (Diane) Schmidt
of Muldrow, OK, Paul (Sandy) Schmidt of Neillsville, Juliana (Mike)
Schmidt-Fairchild of Menomonie, Dan (Cathy) Schmidt of Poynette and Pete (Janet)
Schmidt of Neillsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David of Payson, AZ.
Funeral Services for Tony will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 at
the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor Gary Holloway of the Grace
Baptist Church in Marshfield will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to
7:30 p.m., Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home. Interment will be in the
Neillsville City Cemetery at a later date.
Also, a Memorial Service for Tony will be held at the Atrium Post-Acute Care of
Marshfield - Rehabilitation Center at a date yet to be determined.

with funeral arrangements.
