Fero, Lyle (2 April 1903 – 24 February 1975)
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, February 28, at 2 p.m. from Zion
Lutheran Church, Granton, for Lyle Fero, 71, of Granton, who was dead on arrival
Monday evening at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, following an apparent heart
attack. The Rev. Everett Schleef will officiate, and burial will follow in the
church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, beginning at 2 p.m.
today (Thursday) and until noon Friday when the body will be taken to the church
to lie in state there before the services.
Mr. Fero was born April 2, 1903, at Pittsville. His marriage to the former Norma
Porath took place August 12, 1939, in Pittsville. The couple lived in the
Pittsville area before moving to Granton, where he was employed at the Spry
Elevator and at the Trindal Elevator until his retirement. Mr. Fero was a member
of Zion Lutheran Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children: Mrs. Ralph (Betty Lou)
Ayala of Chicago, Il., and Neal Fero of Milwaukee; three sisters: Mrs. Eva
Porath of la Crosse, Mrs. Arlene Breseman of Granton and Mrs. Beulah McCarthy of
Bend, Or.; and six grandchildren.
