Bender, Mary F. (8 SEP 1909 – 16 NOV 1971)

Mrs. Harold Bender, 62, of rural Granton (Clark Co., Wis.), and a former resident of Owen (Clark Co.), passed away at 7:35 Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where she was being treated for asthma and a heart condition. She was 62 years, 2 months and 8 days of age.

Funeral services are planned for Friday morning, November 19 at 10:30, and will be conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev. Lester Kringle, Owen, will officiate, and burial will be made at Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Bender, nee Mary Frances Craig, was born September 8, 1909 at Fairchild. She received her education in the Owen school system. On July 19, 1927 she was wed to Harold Bender at Stillwater, Minnesota. The couple resided in Barron County until 1939, when they moved to Spooner and styed there until coming to Owen in 1947. They left here in 1962, moving to Warrens, where they made their home until last year when they moved to Granton.

Her passing is mourned by her husband, Harold; a son, Richard, of Granton; one daughter, Mrs. Arlyn (Patricia) Ritter, Granton; three grandchildren, Richard Jr. and Diane Bender, and Arlyn Ritter Jr.; two brothers, Frank Craig, California, and Newell Craig, Racine, Wis., and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Wilson, of Owen.
