Everhard, Rev. Robert Louis (25 NOV 1927 - 23 JUN 2018)
The Reverend Robert Louis Everhard was born Nov. 25, 1927, and was called to his
Lord and Savior on June 23, 2018, at the age of 90.
Robert was a WWII veteran, was drafted into the Army and proudly served his
country. Robert graduated from Carrol College in 1954 and became an ordained
minister after graduating from Dubuque, Iowa, Theological Seminary in 1957. His
ministry spanned five decades, which included three full-time churches and six
interim.
Robert married his wife, Lori Carle, in 1957, had three children, and celebrated
60 wonderful years of marriage. He enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, ping pong,
flying model planes, but most of all the fellowship and interaction with people
surrounding these activities. Robert was also an avid collector of interesting
and unique artifacts and had many great stories behind them that brought them to
life. The Rev. will be remembered for his infectious smile, hearty laugh and
ability to relate to all age groups, spreading his love and inherent wisdom.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lori; and his children; Darlene (Stephen) La
Fave, Dexter Everhart and Donald (Gloria) Everhard; grandchildren, Julie Rose La
Fave (Lucas Sook), Michael La Fave, Penny Lou (Keith) Gattis, Robert Louis
Everhard II, Carolyn Everhard (Logan Wright) and Dalton Everhard; and
great-grandchildren, McKenzie Rose Gattis and Joseph DeLaney Gattis.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vernell (John) Fishleigh.
A memorial service will be held on July 14 at the Abbotsford Presbyterian Church
in Abbotsford. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. with the memorial service from
11 a.m.-12 p.m., followed by a memorial veteran tribute at 12:30 p.m. at
Abbotsford Cemetery.
Following the service, a luncheon will be served at the Abbotsford Presbyterian
Church.
