Nitschke, Elda (4 May 1914 – 5 March 1975)

A native of the Town of Lynn, Mrs. Arnold (Elda) Nitschke, 60, of Granton, was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday evening, March 5, at Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nitschke, the former Elda Guk, was born May 4, 1914, in the Town of Lynn and received her education in schools there and in Neillsville. Her marriage to Arnold Nitschke took place October 23, 1938, at Zion American Lutheran Church. The couple lived on a farm in the Town of Lynn until 1971 when they built a new home and moved to Granton. Mrs. Nitschke was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one son, Roger Nitschke of Granton, one brother, Arno Guk of Marshfield, and two sisters: Mrs. Louis (Dora) Grade of Marshfield and Mrs. Laura Limprecht of Greenwood.

Pallbearers were: Norman Wesenberg, Grant Rose, Louis Breseman, Leland Bass, Warren Sternitzky and John Berez.

Hymns were sung by the congregation with Marjorie Schlinsog serving as organist.
