Two students from the Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) area received degrees Sunday
afternoon, December 19, 1971, during mid-term commencement rites at the
University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point.
The graduates are Bruce Klocke With a B.S., son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Klocke,
and Sharon M. Larson, who also receive her B.S. degree.
The ceremony featured as speaker, Dr. S. Joseph Woodka, Dean of the College of
Letters and Science, who discussed the popular slogan, "America, Love it Or
leave It.: Dr. Woodka was chairman of the political science department before
becoming dean in 1970.
President Lee Sherman Dreyfus, in his traditional charge to the graduates, told
the members they are a minority because of their status as college educated
persons. He urged them to use their talents in preserving the concept of a
self-governed society.
