Johnson, Teresa A. "Terri" (28 JUL 1951 – 7 JUL 2018)
Teresa A. “Terri” Johnson, 66, Greenwood, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2018,
at the House of the Dove in Marshfield, after a long battle with cancer. Teresa
requested to be cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m.,
on Monday, July 16, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp, with
Rev. Janusz Kowalski officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on
Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. All are welcome.
Teresa Ann Olson was born on July 28, 1951, in Waukesha, to Stanley L. and Amy
M. (nee Ehlers) Olson. She grew up in a large, loving family and graduated from
Waukesha South High School in 1969. Teresa married her 14-karat gold sweetheart,
Allen L. Johnson, on Nov. 12, 1977, in Waukesha. Teresa and Al purchased his
family’s 100-year-old farm in Mukwonago on March 28, 1985, where they raised
their children. They built a riding arena and horse stable, where they had
sleigh rides, pumpkin sales, barn dances, and enjoyed sharing the farm with the
community. Teresa and Al retired to Greenwood on June 19, 2006, and built their
retirement home “New Beginning.” During her retirement, she volunteered and was
involved with the Clark County Economic Development Corp. and Tourism Bureau,
was a member of the Rock Dam Rod & Gun Club, and volunteered at The Highground.
Over the years, Teresa enjoyed many things. She was a 4-H leader for the West
Vernon 4-H Club for 23 years in Waukesha County, and served as superintendent of
the Badger State Morgan Horse Shows for 10 years while daughter Colleen
performed at the shows. Teresa also loved knitting (she knitted nine afghans in
four months), enjoyed horseback riding, loved to travel, loved puzzles, was an
avid reader, and couldn’t pass a shopping mall without stopping. She was very
proud of her son, Craig, and loved following his motorcycle business,
competitions, and promotions all over the country.
She leaves behind her husband of 40-plus years, Al, of Greenwood; her son: Craig
(Katie) Johnson of Mukwonago; her daughter: Colleen (Paul) McMillan of Pewaukee;
three above-average, adorable grandchildren: Brianna, Adelynn, and Carson; one
brother: Ron (Mary) Olson of Waukesha; two sisters: Karen (John) Gardner of
Waukesha, and Margaret (Mike) Schroeder of Breckenridge, Colo.; five nieces;
five nephews; and sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Willie Nelson couldn’t have said it better:
“I can’t wait to be on the road again … Seeing places I may never see again”
On the road again, Goin’ places that I’ve never been,
Seein’ things that I may never see again, And I can’t wait to get on the road
again.
Here we go, on the road again, Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway,
We’re the best of friends, Insisting that the world keep turnin’ our way,
And our way is on the road again. I just can’t wait to get on the road again,
The life I love is makin’ music with my friends,
And I can’t wait to get on the road again, break free.
And I can’t wait to get on the road again.
On the road again, Goin’ places that I’ve never been,
Seein’ things that I may never see again, And I can’t wait to get on the road
again.
The Johnson family would like to extend a special thank you to Lori N. at House
