Ohlrogge, Gertrude H.
Gertrude Ohlrogge, 101, Sturgeon Bay, died at the Dorchester Health and Rehab
Center on March 17, 2004. She was born on Aug. 8, 1902 in New London to August
and Mary (Rusch) Meshke. Gertrude worked for Amity Leather for a number of years
and she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and going on bus trips. On Jan. 23, 1923
she married Herbert E. Ohlrogge at Seymour. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24,
1970.
Survivors include six children, Donald (Doris) Ohlrogge, Sturgeon Bay; Dorothy
Walker, Sturgeon Bay, Clifford (Evelyn) Ohlrogge, Sturgeon Bay; Herbert Ohlrogge
Jr., White Plains, Ind.; Janet Claflin, Sturgeon Bay; Jane (Charles) Pichette,
Austin Texas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two great-grandchildren, two
sons-in-law, Keith Claflin and Charles Walker, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev.
John Seelman officiating. Burial will be in the Schumacher Cemetery. Friends may
call on Friday form 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
