Kovatch, Walter (31 DEC 1905 – 2 JAN 1972)
Funeral services for Walter Kovatch were conducted here yesterday from the
Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Father Emil Hodnik was in charge of the service,
and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Charles Kovatch, Frederick Kovatch, William Kovatch,
Chester Buss, and B. Venzke.
Mr. Kovatch, 67, had been in apparent good health and died suddenly at his home
in the Town of Holton (Marathon Co., Wis.), rural Abbotsford, January 2, 1972 of
an apparent heart attack.
He was born December 31, 1905 in Wenona, Illinois, and then came to Wisconsin
with his parents. He received his education here, graduating from Owen High
School and then attended Boys Technical School in Milwaukee. On July 13, 1931 he
married Edna Nabski in a ceremony performed in Milwaukee. The couple lived in
Milwaukee until 1946, when they started farming in the Town of Holton.
He is survived by his wife; three brothers, Mike and Charles Kovatch of rural
Owen, and Frederick Kovatch, Faribault, Minnesota; two sisters, Mary Arnia,
Milwaukee, and Mrs. Ann John of Stevens Point; a daughter, Kathleen O'Leary of
South Milwaukee; one son, ? Kovatch of Dallas, Texas, and four grandchildren.
