Potocnik, Anna (26 JUL 1884 – 04 JAN 1972)
Services were held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home
for Mrs. John (Anna) Potocnik, 87, who died Tuesday at the Marshfield
Convalescent Center. Prior to this she had been hospitalized at St. Joseph's
Hospital in Marshfield since December 1, following a heart attack.
The Rev. Robert Sullivan, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church of Withee,
officiated, and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Organist at the services was Mrs. Lester Hansen, and Molly Rabska sang hymns.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Eugene Bozich, Elliot Paulsen, Jim Pfalzgraf, Dennis
Potocnik, Wayne Neumueller and Dale Amacher.
The former Anna Saks was born July 26, 1884 in Yugoslavia, and came to the
United States in 1909. She was married to John Potocnik April 19, 1909, who
preceded her in death May 22, 1946.
They lived in South Dakota until October 3, 1919, when they moved to their farm
in the Town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.). She lived on the farm until 1947, then
in Milwaukee with a daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Bozich, for six years. The last
18 years she had made her home with a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Emil
Potocnik of Owen (Clark Co.).
Survivors include three sons, John, Emil and Rudolph, all of Owen; two daughter,
Mrs. Anna Bozich and Mrs. Mary Neumueller of Milwaukee; 12 grandchildren and 13
great-grandchildren.
Relatives from away attending the funeral of Mrs. Anna Potocnik of Owen were
Mrs. Anton Bozich, Eugene Bozich, Rosalie Truskowski, Mrs. Mary Neumueller and
son Wayne, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. Ernest Nichols of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Jeff
Ewert of Rockford, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Paulsen of Balsam Lake, Mrs.
Roger William of Madison, and Dennis Potocnik of Eau Claire.
