Schwarze, Harvey L. (17 JUN 1903 – 13 JAN 1972)
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ for
Harvey L. Schwarze, 68, of route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who died of an
apparent heart attack at his home on Thursday, January 13, 1971.
The Rev. Hilding Peterson, pastor, officiated and burial was made in Riverside
Cemetery at Withee.
Serving as pallbearers were Calvin Mills, Lorance Schnoor, John Shilts, Tom
Jablonic, Arne Holpaninen, and Chuck Pribbernow.
The Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Schwarze was born June 17, 1903 in Greenwood (Clark Co.), and attended
Greenwood area schools. He was married to Martha Franz October 26, 1927, in
Greenwood. The couple resided in the town of Green Grove for 40 eyars, and he
had been employed at the Clark County Hospital, Owen, for over 10 years.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ, and had served on the school
board and the Green Grove Town Board.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Beatrice) Nielsen,
Greenwood; six grandchildren; a sister, Miss Eleanor Schwarze, Greenwood, and
three brothers, Orlin, and Ewald, both of Greenwood, and Richard Schwarze, New
Castle, Wyoming.

In the obituary for Harvey Schwarze which appeared in last week's edition of the Owen Enterprise, the story failed to mention that Arlyn Mills was the soloist and was accompanied on the organ by Mr. Schwarze's granddaughter, Berdell Nielsen. Mr. Mills sang "Abide with Me" and "Just as I Am."
