Sturz, Charles (16 OCT 1899 – 1 MAR 1972)

At 1:30 p.m. Sunday March 5, 1972, a funeral services for Charles Sturz, 72, was conducted from Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Holway, with the Rev. Roger Tellock in charge. Burial was made at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Richard Carlson, Frank Hamm, Ray Paul, Archie Ackerman, W. Habermeyer, and Wilmer Paul.

The deceased had been in ill health for some time and passed away at 9 a.m. March 1, 1972 at his farm in the Town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.). In 1968 he had his first heart surgery, followed by poor health and more surgery.

He was born October 16, 1899 at Altoona. As a small boy his parents came to Hoard Township, where he farmed the rest of his life.

He was united in marriage to Alice Wild in Taylor County on October 16, 1931. They were blessed with one son, Leslie, who operated the home farm. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Holway, of which Rev. Roger E. Tellock is pastor.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Alice; a son, Leslie; two brothers, John of Eau Claire, and Earl of Fall Creek; nieces and nephews, and many more relatives and friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Tony, and William, and a sister, Lucille Irwin.
