Nissen, Agnes (13 NOV 1893 – 4 MAR 1972)
Funeral services for Mrs. Robert (Agnes) Nissen, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), were
conducted at 1:30 p.m., March 8, 1972 from the United Church of Christ, with the
Rev. Hilding Peterson officiating. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Lyle Haas, John Lokken, Edward Potocnik, Elton
Fritz, Lorraine Fritz and Gaylord Kaduce.
Mrs. Nissen, a longtime resident of the Owen community, passed away March 4,
1972 at the Havenet Nursing Home, where she had been a resident the past seven
years.
Agnes Nissen, nee Peterson, was born November 13, 1893 in Wisconsin, and on
October 18, 1919, in a ceremony performed at Curtiss, was married to the late
Robert Nissen. The couple farmed in the Town of Hoard (Clark Co.) for years, and
also operated a milk route for several years. She suffered a stroke 11 years
ago, and has been confined to a bed ever since that time.
Mourning her passed are a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Doris Nissen of Owen; two
brothers-in-law, Tony Nissen, Iron Mountain, Michigan, and Martin Nissen of
Glidden; a sister-in-law, Elsie Nissen, Iron Mountain, Michigan; and a niece,
Mrs. Kathryn Brady, Montello.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1952, a son, Clark, in 1966, and a
sister and two brothers.
