Witt, Margaret M. (Schilling) (2 JUN 1925 - 16 JUL 2018)

Margaret M. Witt, age 93, of Colby, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at The Waterford Assisted Living in Colby.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Rev. Mark Neumann will preside. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held at the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Colby is entrusted with the arrangements.

Margaret was born on June 2, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Augusta (Sellung) Schilling in the town of Frankfort. She was united in marriage to Harlan Witt on June 19, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2013. Together they farmed in the town of Beaver and moved into Colby upon retirement in 1991. Margaret enjoyed polka dancing and playing cards. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Margaret is survived by her children, Dennis Witt of Spencer and Dorine Poehnelt of De Pere; four grandchildren, Patty Poehnelt of DePere, Juanita Osborne of Texas, Amber Elsenpeter of Buffalo, Minn., and DeLaine Laski of Germany. She is further survived by her brother, Herbert (Jean) Schilling of Colby; four sisters-in-law, Doris Schilling of Colby, Lavilla Schilling of Colby, Elaine Frome of Evansville and Joanne Leichtman of West Bend; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Donald; four sisters and four brothers, Adeline, Arlene, Mabel, Irene, Thomas, Paul, Clarence and Ervin.
