James F. Miller, 65 of Thorp, formerly of Jump River.

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Thorp, 3 children, Andrea (Brent) Trott of Sheldon, Tricia (Gary) Thompson of Henderson, NV., and Kimberly (Willie) Anderson of Gilman, 3 grandchildren, Brock and Jaden Trott and Kali Anderson, his siblings, Patty (Mike Schmitz) Miller of Carlton, MN., Paul (Diane) Miller, Bill (Antoinette) Miller, Chris (Kathy) Miller and Ruth (Jim) Shaw all of Sheldon, a sister in law, Debbie Miller of Medford and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, July 23 at the Jump River Community Center.

Visitation from 4-8 PM on Sunday at the Gilman Funeral Home and from 11 A.M. until time of service on Monday at the Community Center.

James F. Miller, 65 of Thorp, formerly of Jump River died on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center.

He was born on February 2, 1953 in Stanley to the late James and Rita (Couillard) Miller. He grew up in Jump River and graduated from Gilman High in 1971. On July 29, 1972 he was united in marriage to Karen Hodowanic at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Gilman.

The couple moved to Jump River and farmed there for 43 years on the family farm. The couple sold the farm in 2016 and retired to Thorp. In “retirement” Jim worked for Wayne Raether, Bob’s Corner Garage and Hank’s Furniture. Jim was an active volunteer his whole life. He was in the Jump River Fire Dept for 40 years; 12 as Assistant Chief and 18 years as Fire Chief, a member of the Lions Club, a Community Center Board Member, was town Chairman for Jump River, a member the Gilman School Board and a board member for ASCS.

He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling and playing softball. Jim also loved to watch the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed his time spent with them. He is survived by his wife, Karen of Thorp, 3 children, Andrea (Brent) Trott of Sheldon, Tricia (Gary) Thompson of Henderson, NV and Kimberly (Willie) Anderson of Gilman, 3
grandchildren, Brock and Jaden Trott and Kali Anderson, his siblings, Patty (Mike Schmitz) Miller of Carlton, MN, Paul (Diane) Miller, Bill (Antoinette) Miller, Chris (Kathy) Miller and
Ruth (Jim) Shaw all of Sheldon, a sister in law, Debbie Miller of Medford and many nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Russell and Bob and his sister Judy.

A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Jump River Community Center. Visitation from 4-8 PM on Sunday at the Gilman Funeral Home and from 11A.M.
until time of services Monday at the Community Center.
