Shay, Gerald Vaughn (9 MAY 1938 - 19 JUL 2018)

Gerald Vaughn Shay, 80 of Bruce, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne, 1 son; Daniel Vaughn (Rhonda) Shay of Bruce, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, 1 brother; Jim (Kay) Shay of Sayre, PA and nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania.

At his request, no funeral services will be held.

Gerald Vaughn Shay, 80, of Bruce, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home following a year-long illness with COPD.

Gerald was born on May 9, 1938 in Sayre, Pa. to Elwyn and Evelyn (Vaughn) Shay.

He married Jeanne A. Burback on June 20, 1959 in Milwaukee. They moved to Rusk County in 1997, coming from Green Bay. He was a diesel mechanic in Milwaukee and Green Bay for 25 years and then was an AODA Counselor until his retirement. Gerald loved hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne; his son, Daniel Vaughn (Rhonda) Shay of Bruce; six grandchildren and a great-grandson. He is also survived by his brother, Jim (Kay) Shay of Sayre, Pa. and nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Michaelene Soletski and his brothers, Carl and Tom Shay.

At his request, no funeral services will be held.
