Clausen, Karen M. (11 JUL 1887 – 14 JUN 1972)
Funeral services were held at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, June 17 for
Karen Marie Clausen, who passed away on June 14, 1972 of a heart condition. The
Rev. Robert H. Sullivan officiated, and burial was made at Nazareth Cemetery.
Mrs. Clausen was born July 11, 1887 in Blairsburg, Iowa. On February 5, 1921
(according to her cemetery record) she was married to Hans Clausen, who survives
her. The couple lived on a farm east of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) until 1945, at
which time they moved to Chicago. While in Chicago she was employed at Billings
Hospital. In 1963 they retired and moved back to Owen.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Selma)
Heideman; one brother, Thorvold Carlsen, Withee; one sister, Mrs. Emil H. (Elenore)
Hansen, and two grandchildren, Mrs. Robert (Sharon) List and Wayne Heideman.
She was preceded in death by a daughter in 1957.
