Miss Sally Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clark, Box 314, Owen (Clark Co.,
Wis.), received her diploma from St. Joseph's School of Nursing on Thursday,
June 29, 1972. The group of 43 graduates was the fifty-fifth class to be
graduated from the school.
Commencement exercises were held in the Senior High School Auditorium at 8 p.m.
The nursing graduates of of the school's medical and radiologic technology
formed a procession which entered to the music of the march of "Pomp and
Circumstance." Following the invocation, given by Father John Agnes, David R.
Jaye Jr., president of St. Joseph's Hospital, Inc., extended greetings to the
graduates.
The commencement address was delivered by Ben R. Lawton, M.D. Dr. Lawton, a
surgeon with the Marshfield Clinic, is chairman of the Wisconsin Governor's
Council on Health.
Gerald E. Porter, M.D, Chief of the Medical Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital,
introduced the speakers and acted as master of ceremonies for the conferring of
diplomas. The nurse graduates received their diploma from Miss Helen Brunclik,
R.N., Educational Administrator of the School. Dr. Cesar Reyes presented
diplomas to the Medical Technology graduates, and graduates of the School of
Radiologic Technology received their diplomas from Dr. Thomas G. Olsen.
