Stadler, Arthur E. (17 APR 1892 – 13 JUL 1972)
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 1972 at St. Paul's
Lutheran Church, Curtiss, for Arthur Edward Stadler, 80, who died Thursday, July
13, 1972 at the Glendale Nursing Home, Milwaukee, where he had been a resident
the past two months.
Burial was made in the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, Curtiss, with Masonic rites
being conducted at graveside by the Owen Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Stadler was born April 17, 1892 in Michigan, and then moved to Ladysmith
with his parents. He was married in Duluth, Minnesota, September 8, 1915 to the
former Jennie Botterud, who died May 3, 1970. He came to the Town of Hoard
(Clark Co., Wis.) in 1920 and farmed there until his retirement to Owen in 1957.
He had been Clark County Board Chairman for several terms and assemblyman from
this district for two terms. He was a member and past master of the Owen Masonic
Lodge.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ardith Luitink, Milwaukee; and Mrs. Eldred
(Kathleen) Strebe, Morristown, Arizona; one son, Arthur E. Stadler Jr.,
Wickenburg, Arizona; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two sisters, and two brothers.
