Christensen, Charles J. (21 FEB 1947 – 04 SEP 1972)
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, September 7, 1972, at
Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, for Charles J. Christensen, 25, Owen (Clark
Co., Wis.), who drowned Monday afternoon when his boat capsized on Pike Lake,
six miles north of Boyd.
The Rev. Robert H. Sullivan, pastor, will officiate, and burial will be made in
the Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Lanny Auberg, La Verne Shilts, Ronnie Auberg, Harry
Bruckschlager, Dale Andersen and Richard Goessl.
Charles J. Christensen was born on February 21, 1947 in Illinois, and received
his education at Frenchtown Grade School and Owen-Withee High School. He had
served four years in the U.S. Navy and was married to the former Barbara Ruggeri
November 28, 1969 in Connecticut. He had resided in Owen since 1969.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David, nine months; his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Christensen, Owen; a sister, Edith Christensen,
Minneapolis, and a brother, James Christensen, Milwaukee.
